Notes: Guide Hachette 2** (Remarkable Wine), Wine Spectator 90/100
“An intense wine, powerful in its almost black-purple hue. The aromatic profile reflects the surrounding garrigue, complemented by cherry brandy. On the palate, it combines concentration and freshness, roundness, and well-structured tannins. While it can be served now with a rib of beef, it is still a wine with potential.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2018 guide) 1*Star (A high-quality, recommendable wine that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About the estate:
Wines with character, richly fruity, featuring a lovely texture and a good balance of freshness, yet remain very easy to drink.
Guide Hachette des vins
Wine rated (2013 guide) 2** stars (Outstanding wine)
Rated estate (2021 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)
About the wine:
When a Burgundian embraces the South by understanding the unique character of Mediterranean wines and betting on a blend of grape varieties and terroirs (sandstone and gravelly terraces for these Syrah and Grenache), the results are immediate. Thus, for this third vintage in the appellation, Bruno Lafon and Sylvie Legros make a striking debut with an intense, powerful wine with an almost black-purple hue. The aromatic profile reflects the surrounding garrigue, complemented by cherry brandy. On the palate, it combines concentration and freshness, roundness, and well-structured tannins. While it can be served now with a rib of beef, it is still a wine in the making that can be cellared until 2014 or 2015.
About the estate:
Bruno Lafon inherited his passion for wine and Burgundian precision from his father. Captivated by the Languedoc terroir, he partnered with Sylvie Legros in 1999 to restore this 32-hectare estate, which is farmed organically.

Let it breathe in a decanter for an hour. But I was still disappointed with this wine in terms of value for money

I usually trust 1j1v's reviews, but in this case, I disagree. A lackluster wine—just passable.
