Château Puech-Haut - Languedoc Tête de Bélier rouge 2022
17/20
Jancis Robinson
“A timeless classic that never gets old—perfect for enthusiasts”
“This is a powerful wine, with the richness of an Amarone, Christmas spices, the sweetness of a cherry pie, the density of a Christmas fruitcake, and dark, velvety tannins that smolder gently. An almost overwhelming concentration, but somehow, Puech-Haut has pulled off this feat. To be savored with care.” (Jancis Robinson 2025)

About the wine:
Ironically, although the alcohol content is higher than that of Clos du Pic, the wine is fresher and significantly better balanced. It is a powerful wine, with the richness of an Amarone, Christmas spices, the sweetness of a cherry pie, the density of a Christmas fruitcake, and dark, velvety tannins that linger gently. An almost overwhelming concentration, yet somehow, Puech-Haut has pulled off this feat. To be savored with care.
