About the estate:
Since the 1970s, this certified organic estate has been one of the jewels in the appellation's crown, appearing in the Guide with unfailing regularity. Boasting a magnificent terroir of 70 small schist plots (58 hectares) that sculpt the landscape, it now benefits from the expertise of the younger generation, inherited from grandfather Jean and father Bernard Vidal, both former presidents of the appellation.

Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 06/11/2022
This cuvée is a welcome reminder that there are still some wonderful wines from schist soils that valiantly reflect the old Carignan grape. From the very first sip, you are plunged into the depths, very deep indeed, to encounter a strong density and complexity of black fruits, very black, ripe, very ripe, almost saturated, and earthy notes that envelop the palate and linger. Finally, we return to the surface with just the right amount of tonicity for a superb long finish with a mineral edge on a bed of powerful, juicy tannins that are still a little firm. That's an understatement for this 2020, which is just beginning to show its charm and will be at its best in two to three years. With a little more finesse, it would tend towards a purist's wine. Tasted at 16°C with barbecued Cévennes lamb skewers, accompanied by a little aligot.
