"Tasted blind. The nose is very alluring, and the wine is just as charming. It is both luscious and deeply oaky, with notes of the forest floor. It offers lush layers of wilted rose petals, plums, humus, fallen leaves, fresh wood, and the sweetness of black cherries. The tannins are abundant, yet fine and long. This is an intense, concentrated wine that carries itself with grace and dignity.” (Jancis Robinson 2025)

About the estate:
Since the 1970s, this certified organic estate has been one of the appellation’s jewels, appearing in the Guide with unwavering consistency. Boasting a magnificent terroir of 70 small schist plots (58 hectares) that sculpt the landscape, it now benefits from the expertise of the younger generation, inherited from grandfather Jean and father Bernard Vidal, both former presidents of the appellation.

Against a backdrop of subtle graphite notes, the wine releases intense, jammy fruit flavors, tinged with spices and smoky notes, within a juicy, lively texture, and with such fine, silky tannins. A lovely, savory, and refreshing finish. A distinctive and particularly expressive wine offered at a reasonable price. Guaranteed enjoyment, especially when paired with farm-style guinea fowl with porcini mushrooms and cream, or aligot with sausage. Rating = 4.2.
