It's structured, full and compact, with black cherries at the center and a crisp berry character throughout. Concentrated, compact finish. Syrah, Grenache Noir and Mourvèdre. Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2025) 4*Stars (Top-quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)
About the domain :
Gérard Bertrand has made his name one of the most dynamic brands in French winegrowing. While he claims to make wines from the South an "art de vivre", he is first and foremost a meticulous and demanding winemaker, striving for excellence in his 17 estates. This quest culminates in Clos d'Ora, a magnificent cru in the hills above La Livinière, and a rosé from the Cabrières terroir, Clos du Temple, which shines with intense personality. Since 2002, he has been converting his vineyards to organic and biodynamic viticulture, one of the largest in France in terms of virtuous viticulture. All the estate's wines are outstanding.

About the wine:
The nose of Château l'Hospitalet, with its notes of cade, rosemary and juniper, immediately places us in La Clape. The tannins are both solid and elegant, with a silky texture.
About the domain :
In 20 years, former international rugby player Gérard Bertrand has built up an exceptionally dynamic business in the Languedoc region. In 2016, he was voted best négociant of the year by La Revue du Vin de France. Starting with his family's vineyard in Villemajou, Corbières, in 1987, his empire is now counted in millions of bottles sold every year, and includes several hundred hectares spread over different sites, from Malepère to Terrasses du Larzac. In 2012, he began producing his grand cuvée Clos d'Ora biodynamically, a practice he is now extending to the entire vineyard. Château l'Hospitalet, on the outskirts of Narbonne, is a complete, high-quality hospitality complex, a place well worth a visit.
