“A sunny vintage with irresistible charm!”

“In homage to his grandfather, a schoolteacher (nicknamed the ‘black hussars’ by Charles Péguy), Jacques Bilhac has crafted a great Pézenas—one that is very much… Pézenas—with a distinctive, smoky nose of black fruit, pepper, and Zan. Refined by extended aging (barrel, tank, and bottle), the palate is comfortable, offering a beautiful texture, gently resting on smooth, licorice-tinged tannins. Very caressing, smooth, powerful, but above all elegant—this wine borders on perfection.” (Le Guide Hachette 2026).

Pézenas, with a distinctive, smoky nose of black fruits, pepper, and Zan. About the estate:

Coming from a long line of winemakers, Jacques Bilhac—joined in 2003 by his brother Alex—oversees 30 hectares of vineyards, most of whose grapes he supplies to the cooperative winery. In 2014, the brothers built their own winery and withdrew 7 hectares from the cooperative to produce their own wines.
