Plô Roucarels
Le Plô Roucarels, which means "small rocky plateau" in Occitan, is a 7-hectare estate just south of Carcassonne. Julia Gil-Hubrich is originally from Germany. She cut her teeth with Pierre Clavel at Pic Saint Loup, then at Château Labégorce and Château Citran in Bordeaux. Julien Gil, a native of the region, studied viticulture and oenology at Blanquefort and trained at Château Barrateau and Château Mongravey.
Driven by the desire to build something together, they decided to settle in a region that offers opportunities for young winemakers: Languedoc-Roussillon. They embarked on their winemaking adventure in 2006 by purchasing their first 2 hectares of vines. In 2011, they found an additional 5 hectares in the Limoux appellation. A new stage in their lives as winemakers!
