Toques et Clochers

Toques et Clochers is a unique identity in France, which since 1990 has distinguished the excellence of the wines and winemakers of Sieur d'Arques in Limoux.

With four terroirs and forty-two bell towers, Limoux benefits from an exceptional location in Languedoc and encourages the personal work of each winemaker to produce exceptional wines. Under the influence of the ocean and the natural protection of the Pyrenean foothills, the climate is divided into four terroirs that give their mark to the wines produced there: Mediterranean, Autan, Oceanic, and Haute-Vallée. Selection of plots, manual harvesting, and sorting of the harvest are essential for the production of these great Toques et Clochers wines.

Sieur d'Arques, with Toques et Clochers and its four terroirs, produces exceptional white wines, whose Chardonnay grape variety illustrates the effect of the terroir: mineral notes and a beautiful structure for the Upper Valley, floral aromas and notes of dried fruit for the Autan terroir, notes of white-fleshed fruit and vanilla for the Oceanic terroir, intense aromas of ripe fruit and a full-bodied palate for the terroir under Mediterranean influence.
