"Beautiful terroir for white wine"

Every year in the Guide, the winery presents its Océanique cuvée, which comes from high-altitude plots in the western part of the appellation. The aging process gives it an intensely vanilla nose. White flowers and citrus fruit come through on the palate, which is full-bodied, with a delicious sweetness and a lively, mouthwatering finish. Ready to serve." Rated estate (2025 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one would expect from its appellation(s))

About the estate:

The Sieur d'Arques cooperative is the major economic player in Limoux, marketing 16 million bottles. A pioneer in plot selection, it has been committed to quality for twenty years and continues to produce very well-balanced vintages. The range of Toques-et-Clochers whites, made from Chardonnay grapes grown in four Limoux terroirs, is aged in barrels in the Burgundian style, with bâtonnage, resulting in generous, charming and perfectly balanced wines. A lovely range of quality sparkling wines perfectly complements the winery's selection. Its consistent quality makes it a true spearhead for the appellation.

About the estate:

The Sieur d'Arques cooperative winery is a key player in the Limoux wine region, where it accounts for around 60% of production. Founded in 1946, it now has some 205 members and owns a vast vineyard covering 1,800 hectares spread across more than 40 communes, enabling it to carry out rigorous plot selection across a wide variety of terroirs. Its Toques et Clochers auction, established in 1990, has given Limoux a renewed reputation and drawn attention to its still wines.
