Founded in 1946, it now brings together some 205 members and owns a vast vineyard of 1,800 hectares spread across more than 40 municipalities, enabling it to conduct a rigorous plot-by-plot selection across a wide variety of terroirs. Its “Toques et Clochers” auction, established in 1990, has given Limoux a renewed sense of prominence and drawn attention to its still wines.
