With a beautiful intense garnet color, this blend of Syrah, Carignan, and Grenache from hillside vineyards expresses aromas of jammy red fruits. Its supple and concentrated palate is supported by high-quality, yet very rounded tannins.

About the estate:

All that remains of the medieval fortress of the lords of Oupia are sections of wall, remnants of the enclosure, and a tower. In 1860, Romain Iché bought the castle, which passed to his grandson André in 1970. André undertook to renovate the estate and the cellar, turning the property into a benchmark for the Minervois appellation. He passed away in 2007, leaving his life's work to his daughter Marie-Pierre.

Note and opinion by Mr. RAPHAEL L. Published on January 28, 2017

Surprising, a wine that reveals aromas of tires and wax for 48 hours, undrinkable... and then these aromas eventually faded, and the wine became good value for money. Disappointed nonetheless.
