" An enchanting red that combines Syrah, Carignan, and Grenache, macerated for a very long time in the cellar. The nose is slow to open, initially bearing the imprint of the barrel with its roasted and smoky notes, then allowing scents of black fruits, garrigue, and undergrowth to blossom. The palate is impressive for its fullness and concentration, perfectly balanced by well-measured tannins that are powerful but remarkably extracted. A long finish of black fruits and spices speaks volumes about the potential of this beautiful red." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2020) Great aging potential!

About wine:
An enchanting red that combines Syrah, Carignan, and Grenache, macerated for a very long time in the cellar (fifty days). The nose is slow to open, initially bearing the mark of the barrel with its roasted and smoky notes, then allowing scents of black fruits, garrigue, and undergrowth to blossom. The palate is impressive in its fullness and concentration, perfectly balanced by well-measured tannins that are powerful but remarkably extracted. A long finish of black fruits and spices speaks volumes about the potential of this beautiful red. For fans of Stephan Eicher, it's worth noting that the singer designed the label.
About the estate:
All that remains of the medieval fortress of the lords of Oupia are sections of wall, remnants of the enclosure, and a tower. In 1860, Romain Iché bought the castle, which passed to his grandson André in 1970. André undertook to renovate the estate and the cellar, turning the property into a benchmark for the Minervois appellation. He passed away in 2007, leaving his life's work to his daughter Marie-Pierre.

5V for this remarkable Minervois after opening a second bottle, for its quality and its very, very, very reasonable price. A robust structure, elegantly blended tannins on black fruit jams and ripe fruit with a hint of balsamic vinegar. Full-bodied and dense. A sweet, spicy finish with vanilla and caramel. A treat for the taste buds when paired with a slice of pan-fried veal liver.
