Oppius is the estate’s flagship wine, dominated by Syrah. Flavorful and elegant, it opens with an intense nose, fragrant with black fruits and chocolate. On the palate, it is powerful and beautifully concentrated, with hints of leather. The tannins are robust, yet the texture is silky. A lovely minty freshness harmoniously livens up the whole. A truly elegant Minervois!

About the estate:

All that remains of the medieval fortress of the Lords of Oupia are sections of wall—remnants of the outer walls—and a tower. In 1860, Romain Iché purchased the château, which passed to his grandson André in 1970. André undertook the renovation of the estate and the cellar, transforming the property into a benchmark for the Minervois appellation. He passed away in 2007, leaving his life’s work to his daughter Marie-Pierre.

Both full-bodied and supple, yet fresh. A magnificent wine.
