"All the generosity and aromas of a ripe Syrah vinified using carbonic maceration in this enticing cuvée. Very dense, the color promises a rich and concentrated nose imbued with blackcurrant and morello cherry. The same voluptuousness emanates from a perfectly rich palate, without any softness, which incorporates beautiful fine and crisp tannins. A lively finish with fresh fruit and sweet spices. Power, elegance, indulgence: "it has it all," enthuse the tasters."(Le Guide Hachette 2023)

Review and opinion by Mr. FABIEN L. Published on 06/28/2024

A rich and full-bodied wine, even if not the most refined (drunk in 2024, it can certainly mellow nonetheless). So I would have given it 4 stars... until I saw the price. A very good wine for under $10 is unheard of these days!

Excellent value for money with substance and a beautiful volume on the palate, without being heavy. Not very complex but aromatic and pleasant.

Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 09/11/2023

An elegant and demonstrative flagship wine from Château Beaufort. The violet and pepper-tinged attack opens onto a powerful, full and charming palate, enveloped by a dense and fine grain, with a particularly savory creaminess, supported by smooth and caressing tannins, with a beautiful roundness that is not heavy, but still a little severe. It exudes an abundance of ripe, juicy black fruits, highly concentrated in toasted notes, delicately cocoa-flavored and kneaded with a plethora of sweet spices. A fine acidity maintains the balance of the solid structure throughout the tasting and supports a long, velvety and voluptuous finish. Excellent value for money. Irresistible now. The ideal companion for a mosaic of dishes: in summer, BBQ-grilled veal kidney skewers with eggplant caviar or braised duck with candied black figs; in winter, Caribbean chicken Colombo or Indian-style Shabi Korma lamb. Rating = 4.1.
