Rating: Gault Millau 15/20
This rosé, with its vibrant pale pink color and violet highlights, opens with an initial nose of exotic fruits (mango, lychee) and citrus (lemon, mandarin), then reveals lovely floral notes (rose). Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2025 guide): 2*Stars (A solid, recommendable production, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
Following Bernard Durand—who oversaw Pic Saint-Loup’s transition from a mixed-farming operation focused on sheep to its recognition as a premium wine-growing region—his nephew, Régis Valentin, took over the technical reins. Without fanfare, this estate is worth seeking out for its “Vieilles Vignes” cuvée—powerful yet flavorful—as well as its “Clos des Combes” and “Grande Cuvée.” The Cuvée Madame is even more ambitious, and the rosé is consistently delicious.
Guide Hachette des vins
Rated estate (2025 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines regularly receive awards from the guide)
About the estate:
Régis Valentin, an oenologist and cellar master, took over the estate in 2001, which had been founded in 1960 by the Durand-Valentin families. He produces wines from 80 hectares of vineyards (in the process of converting to organic farming since 2019) situated on a beautiful terroir of hard limestone and red clay. A sure bet in the Languedoc.
