Domaine La Madura - Classic Red 2004

Domaine La Madura - Classic Rouge 2004

A characterful Saint-Chinian produced by a rising star of the AOC!

After gaining experience at Château Lynch Bages and Château Fieuzal in the Bordeaux region, Cyril Bourgne returned to settle on his ancestral lands in the Languedoc region in Saint-Chinian, convinced of the exceptional potential offered by this great terroir. And after tasting his wines, it’s easy to see why they grace the tables of Michelin-starred restaurants. Pure and elegant, his wines are made for fine dining, just like the "Classic", where the blend (Grenache, Carignan, Mourvèdre, and Syrah) highlights the terroir's distinctive character, with elegant notes of garrigue. Perfect with Mediterranean cuisine.

Rated estate (2024 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)

About the estate:

After completing advanced studies in biogenetics, ampelography, and oenology, Cyril Bourgne began his career in Bordeaux (Château de Fieuzal) before embarking, alongside his wife Nadia, on a more personal winemaking venture in the Languedoc. The vineyard is meticulously tended, allowing for the extraction of complex and refined flavors during winemaking, which is now carried out in the new cellar nestled within the Saint-Chinian landscape. The precision of barrel aging, applied to the Grand Vin cuvée—dominated by Syrah and Mourvèdre—aims to redefine the contemporary expression of Saint-Chinian.
