This white Saint-Chinian wine has a refined profile and aromatic complexity. It offers very floral notes on the nose, rather toasty in its youth, accompanied by plenty of freshness. A round white wine with good volume on the palate and a beautiful mineral and salty finish. A lovely cuvée to enjoy with family and friends.

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2024 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

Isabelle and Mathieu Champart created their estate from scratch in 1976 and have made it a signature brand because, year after year, everything there is always excellent. The apparent simplicity of these lesser-known wines was matched only by the length and complexity of their finishes. The estate has changed hands, with Pascaline Bour, a relative of the Mulliez family, taking it over. We await the wines produced by the new team and hope that they will continue an incredible series of great successes in an appellation that curiously suffers from a lack of notoriety.

Rated estate (2024 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly awarded by the guide)

About the estate:

A magnificent landscape, terraced vineyards, a farmhouse on the hillside, and very stony, clay-limestone soil. Since 1976, Isabelle and Matthieu Champart have been cultivating 13 hectares of vines (80% of which are organic) in this picture-postcard setting, with an organic approach that predates their official conversion in 2019. They have been making wine since 1988, the year they left the cooperative.

Rated estate (2024 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good-quality wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

Fans of the Champart couple, both recently retired, can rest assured: the estate remains in excellent shape, following in the footsteps of its creators! Nicolas Gaignon continues to produce these beautiful vintages grown on clay-limestone soil. The 16-hectare estate, located on the limestone folds overlooking the town of Saint-Chinian, began its conversion to organic farming in 2019. Here, the wines are designed for both immediate enjoyment and long-term aging.
