Domaine Loic Mahé
Passionate and talented, Loic Mahé runs his estate with a simple philosophy: to work in harmony with nature to produce balanced and authentic wines, each of which expresses the distinctive character of the Gué d’Orger terroirs: sandstone schist, weathered schist, wind-blown sand, and phyllites.
The vineyard at Domaine Loic Mahé, which covers just 5 hectares of vines, is Ecocert-certified for organic farming. This approach requires a great deal of hard work in the vineyards, always seeking the conditions most conducive to the harmonious development of the vines and their fruit.
Domaine Loic Mahé maintains vibrant soils and a preserved environment through careful soil management, the exclusion of all chemical products and fertilizers, the use of biodynamic preparations, and limited yields (30–35 hl/ha) to allow for a natural concentration of nutrients in the fruit. The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand; winemaking is natural to carry forward in the cellar the spirit of the work begun in the vineyard; and fermentation is slow, using indigenous yeasts, with no chaptalization and minimal sulfur, followed by aging in oak barrels or small containers.
