“A fresh grape-like character brings this full-bodied, lively Cabernet to life. A delightful wine that avoids the excessive richness typical of its sun-drenched vintage.” (Le Guide RVF)

Rated 3* Stars (A high-quality product that serves as a benchmark in its sector)
Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
Wine rated 91/100 (Wonderful wine)
About the wine:
The 2018 Bourgueil Peu Muleau comes from the upper part of the hillside and offers a beautiful, fresh, and aromatic bouquet—very intense—with stony terroir notes intertwined with bright, transparent, yet ripe and concentrated aromas of red and black fruits, cherry, and pepper. Round and full-bodied on the palate, with soft, refined tannins, this Cabernet Franc is supple, smooth, warm, and full-bodied, with a long, intense finish. Truly excellent.

Rated estate (2026 guide): 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to the consistency and excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)
About the wine:
A fresh grape flavor animates this full-bodied, lively Cabernet. A delicious wine that isn’t weighed down by the excessive richness of its sun-drenched vintage. Best enjoyed within five years.
About the estate:
Emmanuel Caslot and his sister Laurie carry on the work of thirteen generations with love and dedication at this historic estate in Bourgueil. Here, Cabernet Franc is vinified with great care to subtly express the terroirs of sand, clay, and limestone found on the lower, middle, and upper slopes. Each label is thoughtfully adorned with a color that reflects the wine’s intensity and complexity: from bright red for the Peu Muleau to deep purple for the Grand-Mont. These quintessential Bourgueil wines highlight the refined, cool austerity of Cabernet Franc while embodying a magnificent smoothness of texture. Let’s commend the bottle aging in tuffeau cellars prior to release.

Warm and cheerful, this Cabernet Franc displays wonderful vitality and a supple, rich body dominated by fresh red fruits and soft, silky tannins. The finish is fresh and fragrant. At its peak, this lovely, easy-drinking wine paired well with oven-roasted pork served with chanterelle mushrooms.
