Rating: Bettane & Desseauve 17/20, RVF 16.5/20
“This wine, like all the estate’s great vintages, will age beautifully, thanks to its already well-defined structure and its aromatic nuances of red fruit and slightly peppery flowers. It is a refined Cabernet Franc. ” (Le Grand Guide des Vins de France 2011 - Bettane & Desseauve)

Rated estate (2026 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to the consistency and excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)

About the estate:

Emmanuel Caslot and his sister Laurie lovingly and meticulously continue the work of thirteen generations at this historic Bourgueil estate. Here, Cabernet Franc is vinified with genuine gentleness to express the nuanced terroirs of sand, clay, and limestone on the lower, mid, and upper slopes. Each label is judiciously adorned with a color that reflects the intensity and complexity of the wine: from vibrant red for Peu Muleau to deep purple for Grand-Mont. These quintessential Bourgueil wines highlight the refined, cool austerity of Cabernet Franc while possessing a magnificent, smooth texture. We must also commend the aging process in the tuffeau cellars before release.
