RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Rated estate (2026 guide): 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to the consistency and excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)
About the estate:
Emmanuel Caslot and his sister Laurie lovingly and meticulously carry on the work of thirteen generations at this historic estate in Bourgueil. Here, Cabernet Franc is vinified with great care to subtly express the terroirs of sand, clay, and limestone found on the lower, middle, and upper slopes. Each label is thoughtfully adorned with a color that reflects the wine’s intensity and complexity: from bright red for the Peu Muleau to deep purple for the Grand-Mont. These iconic Bourgueil wines highlight the refined, cool austerity of Cabernet Franc while offering a magnificent, smooth texture. Let’s celebrate the bottle aging in tuffeau cellars before the wines are released to the market.
