Sylvain Bruneau - L'Éclosion 2017
1*Étoile
Hachette
14/20
Bettane & Desseauve
"Cherry, morello cherry, and licorice notes emerge when this deep ruby wine is aerated. Pleasant from the outset, it envelops the palate with its fruity flesh, supported by tannins that leave a slight bitterness on the finish, but without any harshness." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2020) A great vintage!

Wine rated 14/20 (Good wine)
Winery rated 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, consistent with what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About wine:
The pronounced tannic mass deserves a year of rest to mellow and reveal a very lively, blood-red fruit.
About the estate:
With a long family history, the Bruneau-Dupuy estate has now been taken over by Sylvain. Since 2012, the vineyard has been undergoing organic conversion. The estate covers an area of 20 hectares, protected to the north by the forest. Half of the estate is located on south-facing slopes, covered with old vines planted in clay-limestone soils. The wines produced from these vines are full-bodied and long on the palate. The other half of the vineyard is planted in sandy soil, which produces lighter, fruitier wines that are best enjoyed young. At less than €15, the wines offer good value for money.
