"It's a very convincing wine, because it's concentrated, with lively, ripe fruit, which wasn't obvious in 2013 in this sector. Gérard Vallée's talent is all the more evident..." (Le Guide des bonnes affaires du vin 2015 - Gerbelle & Maurange). A red with soft tannins and a long finish, where everything comes together to flatter the most delicate palates... Not to be missed!

Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2025) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the domain :
Converting his Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil vineyard to organic farming, Gérald Vallée has embarked on an in-depth program of respect for the grapes. His wines reflect all the elegance and delicacy of the appellation's varied terroir. The range is astonishing right from the first wines, elegant, racy, deep and delicious. There's plenty to choose from among a range of wines at very reasonable prices.
Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
Domaine rated 1*Star (Serious production)
About the domain :
Gérald Vallée farms 27 hectares of Cabernet Franc, all of which have been converted to organic farming, with all the care one can imagine: tilling the soil, thinning out the leaves... All the grapes are grown in the Saint-Nicolas de Bourgueil appellation. In the cellar, no yeast or enzymes are added to the vats.

Wine rated (2015 guide) 14,5/20 (Good wine)
Domaine rated (guide 2026) 2*Stars (These great estates, often endowed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the wine:
Concentrated, full of ripe, lively fruit, La Croisée 2013 is convincing.
About the domain :
The meticulous Gérald Vallée leaves nothing to chance when vinifying in wooden vats and ageing in barrels. His Cabernet Franc wines are full-bodied and seductive, with smooth tannins that make them accessible when young, but also with good ageing potential. Recent vintages have considerably enhanced the fruit, bringing them closer to the freshness of their terroir. The "fruity" cuvée La Croisée is made with spontaneity, while Les Perruches is tactfully styled in wooden vats to highlight the identity of these flinty clays. On Coteau du Vau Jaumier, the Cabernet Franc reveals an inimitable suavity and "sandy texture". And Postumus? A marvel of Cabernet Franc vinified in whole bunches, with citrus and rose tones, a wine out of the ordinary for the region, and for the rest of the world for that matter. The additional brilliance and freer, yet still very precise expressions invite us to award it our second star.
