Château de Chaintres - Clos des Oratoriens blanc 2014
"Bright golden yellow color. Generous nose, quince, apple, elegant vegetal notes. Round attack, full-bodied, rich, lively, still a little angular, subtle mineral accent, delicious silky succulence, persistent, lemony finish, potential, we'll wait for it." (Le Guide des Vins 2017 - Gilbert & Gaillard)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2020 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About the estate:
The arrival of the talented Jean-Philippe Louis as technical director has breathed new life into this sleeping beauty in the Saumur region, where the soil is clay-limestone and the sun shines generously. The 2018 vintage heralds the estate's resurrection, with a red cuvée from old vines offering rich, fruity flavors. The Clos-des-Oratoriens white wine requires more time to develop. Watch this space!
