Château de Chaintres - Clos des Oratoriens blanc 2014
“Bright golden-yellow color. Generous nose with notes of quince, apple, and elegant vegetal hints. Round on the palate, full-bodied, rich, and lively, though still a bit angular, with a subtle mineral touch, a delicious silky texture, and a persistent, lemony finish. Shows potential; let’s wait and see.” (Le Guide des Vins 2017 - Gilbert & Gaillard)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2020 guide) 1*Star (A high-quality, recommendable wine that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About the estate:
The arrival of the talented Jean-Philippe Louis as winemaker has breathed new life into this sleeping beauty of the Saumur region, where the soil is clay-limestone and the sun shines generously. The 2018 vintages herald the estate’s resurgence, with a red cuvée from old vines offering rich, full-bodied fruit. The Clos-des-Oratoriens, a white wine, requires more time to develop. Stay tuned!
