Château Calissanne

Château Calissanne covers 1,200 hectares, including 110 hectares of south-facing vineyards designated as A.O.P. Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence and IGP. The terroir of Château Calissanne consists of gently sloping, stony hillsides at the foot of large limestone cliffs, ideally suited to the cultivation of vines and olive trees. In the unique “terroir” of Château Calissanne, the Mediterranean climate—hot and dry (annual rainfall 550 mm)—is tempered by the influence of sea air, providing the vineyards with abundant sunshine.

Sophie Kessler now manages the Château Calissanne estate alongside her son Thomas. The vineyards of Château Calissanne are carefully cultivated with a focus on low yields, and the majority of production is dedicated to making rosé wines typical of Provence.
