A new vintage, the 2009 was rated: RVF 16.5/20
Clos de la Procure produces this white wine exclusively from old Ugni Blanc vines; it is fermented in barrels that previously held two vintages of Château Yquem and in new oak barrels sourced from the small but exceptional forest of Jupille. Exceptionally smooth!

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2018 guide): 2 stars (A solid, recommendable wine, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous vintage)

About the estate:

Formed in 2000, the partnership between singer Emmanuelle Dupéré and geological engineer Laurent Barrera is now well-established. These merchants, winemakers, and vintners are well-supplied with high-quality grapes, and Provence is a favorite region for the duo. Following the 2016 sale of their estate, Clos de la Procure, they are refocusing on the core of their business: crafting a range of characterful, delicious wines.

3-star rated estate (High-quality production)

About the estate:

Laurent Barrera, a geological engineer, and Emmanuelle Dupéré, a graduate of the Bordeaux "viti-œno" program, launched a small wine trading business in 1998 with the goal of producing wines of the highest quality throughout southeastern France. They purchase grapes directly from the vineyard and closely monitor the winemaking process. Le Clos de la Procure, which they manage directly, consists mainly of old vines in Carnoules (30 km east of Bandol). In 2009, a new winery was built in the middle of the vineyards.

Rated estate (2018 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

The year 2016 marked a turning point for Emmanuelle Dupéré and Laurent Barrera. The couple sold their Clos de la Procure estate in Carnoules to devote themselves exclusively to their boutique wine merchant business specializing in wines from Provence, the Southern Rhône, and the Languedoc. Carefully selecting their sources, they highlight fruit-forward, juicy vintages in the Caractère range, as well as more ambitious wines with a strong Provençal character, particularly in reds (80% of their volume), such as The Last One or TLM, which undergoes a two-month maceration. The diverse range of labels will appeal to enthusiasts seeking a thrilling experience.
