The 2009 vintage was rated: RVF 15/20, Bettane & Desseauve 15/20
A rosé made, as its name suggests, from old vines averaging 30 to 35 years old—an age rarely found in Provence. An expressive wine with spicy citrus aromas; on the palate, it is all lightness, finesse, and creaminess, with the added silkiness of a young woman’s skin... Perfect!

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2020 guide): 2 stars (A solid, recommendable wine, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous vintage)

About the estate:

This is one of the most famous estates in Provence. It belongs to the Combard family, who manage this 85-hectare vineyard, 30 hectares of which are leased. The vines, located along the coast on schist soil, have been cultivated using organic methods since 1979. Steps are currently underway to transition the entire estate to biodynamic farming. We applaud this commitment, which is no small feat for an estate of this size. While the wines are among Provence’s most reliable offerings, the family also goes the extra mile in welcoming visitors and, during the sunny days of the season, offers a cultural program well worth the visit.
