Saint-André de Figuière - Confidentielle 2010

Saint-André de Figuière - Confidentielle 2010

Notes: RVF 15/20, Guide Hachette 2** (Remarkable Wine)
“With a deep garnet color, this 2010 reveals aromas of black berries (blackcurrant, blueberry) against a backdrop of forest floor and toast. These impressions are confirmed by a full-bodied, enveloping palate, supported by silky tannins. This well-balanced wine will reach its peak around 2015.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2013)

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2020 guide): 2 stars (A solid, recommendable wine, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous vintage)

About the estate:

This is one of the most famous estates in Provence. It belongs to the Combard family, who manage this 85-hectare vineyard, 30 hectares of which are leased. The vines, located along the coast on schist soil, have been cultivated using organic methods since 1979. Steps are currently underway to transition the entire estate to biodynamic farming. We applaud this commitment, which is no small feat for an estate of this size. While the wines are among Provence’s most reliable offerings, the family also goes the extra mile in welcoming visitors and, during the sunny days of the season, offers a cultural program well worth the visit.
