"[...] this colorful Cornas exudes black fruit notes against a generously smoky and roasted background. The aging process blends into a powerful, opulent palate with strong licorice notes, supported by fine, persistent tannins that stretch the fruit without drying it out, leading to a remarkable finish with mineral freshness. The jury is charmed. Suitable for long-term aging." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2020) A very fine bottle for you and your cellar!

Wine rated 15.5/20 (Very good wine)

Rated estate (2021 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About wine:

This wine has a creamy texture, with notes of red berries and sweet spices. It is round and full-bodied, and definitely indulgent.

About the estate:

Philippe Desmeure and his daughter Émilie have successfully developed this family estate, expanding it to 30 hectares of vineyards. The vinification and aging in wood result in wines that are typically smooth on the palate. The estate produces wines of consistent quality in both colors, vintage after vintage. Good 2017.

Hachette Wine Guide

Guide Hachette des vins

Wine noted (guide 2020) 2* Favorite (Remarkable wine)

Rated estate (2023 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About wine:

Produced from the wine merchant's business, this great, colorful Cornas exudes black fruit against a generously smoky and roasted background. The aging blends into a powerful, opulent palate, very licorice-like, supported by fine, persistent tannins that stretch the fruit without drying it out, leading to a remarkable finish of mineral freshness. The jury is charmed. Long aging potential.

About the estate:

Until 1973, Alphonse Desmeure brought his harvest to the cooperative. His son Philippe developed the property from 1977 onwards, generalized bottled production, and expanded the vineyard: today it covers 36 hectares, spread across several municipalities. Émilie and Christophe, his children, have joined the estate. An essential reference, with wines of rare consistency.

Wine rating (2019 guide) 90/100 (Outstanding wine)

Rated estate (2022 guide) Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)

About wine:

This estate does a good job with its Cornas wines, producing a style that is true to its appellation. The 2017 Cornas hints at menthol, then delivers notes of crushed stone and red plum. It is medium-bodied to full-bodied, silky and ripe, with moderate concentration and decent length. Solid.

Deep color, nose of ripe red fruit. Very good length, splendid. Peak in 2023. Perfectly combines power, stewed fruit, and a voluptuous sensation. Very classy!
