"A Crozes-Hermitage with character that ticks all the right boxes!

"The nose delivers a delectable archetype of tactfully woody Syrah (fresh blackberry, violet, white pepper, licorice). Straightforward, well rounded, held together by firm tannins, the palate displays superb length, stretched out over savory flavors of black fruit and spice. A dynamic red with no false notes". Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated (guide 2021) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)

About the domain :

Philippe Desmeure and his daughter Émilie have developed this family estate to 30 hectares of vines. Vinification and ageing in wood produce cuvées with a habitually caressing mouthfeel. The estate shows great consistency in both colors, vintage after vintage. Good 2017.

Domaine noté (guide 2023) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)

About the wine:

The nose delivers a delectable archetype of tactfully woody Syrah (fresh blackberry, violet, white pepper, licorice). Straightforward, well rounded, held together by firm tannins, the palate displays superb length, stretching out over savory flavors of black fruits and spices. A dynamic red with no false notes.

About the domain :

Until 1973, Alphonse Desmeure brought his harvest to the cooperative. His son Philippe developed the estate from 1977 onwards, introducing bottled production and expanding the vineyard: 36 hectares today, spread over several communes. Émilie and Christophe, his children, have now joined the estate. An unrivalled benchmark, with wines of rare consistency.

Wine rated (2024 guide) 91/100

About the wine:

The medium to full-bodied Crozes-Hermitage Cuvée Particulière 2023 presents itself well. Spicy, fleshy accents mingle with graphite and blackberry in the aromatic profile. Concentrated and elegant, the promising 2023 needs at least two more years in bottle to begin to reveal its full potential.

Rated domain (guide 2022) Recommended

About the wine:

Crozes-Hermitage Cuvée Particulière 2023 reveals pronounced aromas of black fruits, smoky earth, graphite and pepper, as well as hints of saddle leather. This medium-bodied, concentrated Crozes has powerful tannins and a fine finish. Aged for 12 months in demi-muids, it's not for light wine lovers, but it has plenty of character and is a complex, satisfying wine that will drink nicely through 2035.
