Syrah

Not entirely sourced from the estate's vines (it is simply labeled Les Remizières), the 2019 Cornas is an impenetrable purple color in the glass. A little cedar and toasted on the nose, it is firm and stony on the palate, with lots of structure and backbone. Full-bodied, it delivers black cherry fruit, notes of crushed stone and baking spices, and finishes with dusty tannins. Give it another year or two, then drink it over the next decade." (Wine Advocate 2021). A very fine bottle for you and your cellar!

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2021 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

Philippe Desmeure and his daughter Émilie have successfully developed this family estate, expanding it to 30 hectares of vineyards. The vinification and aging in wood result in wines that are typically smooth on the palate. The estate produces wines of consistent quality in both colors, vintage after vintage. Good 2017.

Hachette Wine Guide

Guide Hachette des vins

Rated estate (2023 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the estate:

Until 1973, Alphonse Desmeure brought his harvest to the cooperative. His son Philippe developed the property from 1977 onwards, generalized bottled production, and expanded the vineyard: today it covers 36 hectares, spread across several municipalities. Émilie and Christophe, his children, have joined the estate. An essential reference, with wines of rare consistency.
