“A truly great red wine”

With its deep, intense color, the Émilie cuvée is a full-bodied, robust Hermitage that remains supple. Its precise structure and long, textured finish never cease to impress us. A distinguished cuvée that should be cellared for five years before being enjoyed for at least a decade.

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2021 guide) 2*Stars (A solid, recommendable vintage, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

Philippe Desmeure and his daughter Émilie have successfully expanded this family estate to 30 hectares of vineyards. The winemaking process and aging in oak result in wines that are typically smooth on the palate. The estate consistently produces high-quality wines in both red and white, vintage after vintage. The 2017 vintage is particularly good.

Wine noted (guide 2024) 2* Stars (Vintage 2021) (Remarkable wine)

Rated estate (2023 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the estate:

Until 1973, Alphonse Desmeure brought his harvest to the cooperative. His son Philippe began developing the estate in 1977, shifted production to bottled wine, and expanded the vineyard, which now covers 36 hectares spread across several municipalities. His children, Émilie and Christophe, have joined the estate. A must-try producer, offering wines of rare consistency.
