Rated 3 stars (A high-quality product that serves as a benchmark in its sector)

About the estate:

In the late 1980s, Frédéric and François Alary were among the few winemakers who literally reinvented the Côtes-du-Rhône and its villages, bringing a level of exacting standards, sensitivity, and rigor to their production that were concepts entirely foreign to many of their peers. Over the following decades, they have made their estate one of the most appealing and consistent ambassadors of the Côtes-du-Rhône. With their 25 hectares cultivated biodynamically and an impressive heritage of old vines, they know how to craft wines that combine richness and pleasure. Always solidly structured yet without any harsh tannins, precisely expressing ripe fruit, their red wines are never at their best until after one to three years of aging, depending on the cuvée and vintage. As for the white wines, they blossom with smooth, full-bodied textures and a subtle minerality.

About the estate:

Frédéric and François Alary, who arrived in 1984, have stepped down from their roles at the helm of this estate, which has been in the Alary family since the 17th century. Under the guidance of the two brothers and their tireless efforts, the estate reached its peak, thanks to sustainable farming practices and well-defined wines—both white and red—produced on this beautiful terroir in Cairanne. With no one to carry on the legacy, the estate was sold in 2020 to the Abeille-Fabre family, the owners of Château Mont-Redon in Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
