“The House’s Other Châteauneuf”

“It’s truly hard to resist this wine’s abundant aromas of blackcurrant, red currant, and strawberry. It offers a subtle interplay between controlled ripeness and soft tannins. It’s quite full-bodied, but its silky tannins and long, lively finish make it seem lighter than it actually is. A Grenache-based cuvée, blended with other traditional grape varieties.” (James Suckling 2025)

About the estate:

Over the past 15 years, the Perrin family of Château de Beaucastel has expanded by acquiring estates in the southern Rhône Valley. This strategy has proven successful both in the Luberon, with La Vieille Ferme, and in the other terroirs featured here. Their mastery of fermentation and appropriate aging techniques have played a major role in this success.

Rated wine (2025 guide) 92/100 (Excellent wine)

Estate rated "Recommended" (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)

About the wine:

Made from the young vines of Château de Beaucastel, supplemented by two plots located in the center of the village, the 2023 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Sinards has a hint of pepper, revealing aromas of black berries and spices. Medium-bodied to full-bodied, rich and juicy, it is fresh and lively despite its structured tannins, and finishes with a long, penetrating aftertaste. Made primarily from Grenache Noir, it is a perfect introduction to the world of the Perrin family.

About the wine:

The nose also reveals plenty of power and energy. A deep core of fruit and tight, firm tannins throughout, with notes of spice, licorice, and wild berries, and an opulent finish. It has good freshness for the vintage, yet still retains real power.
