“The 2024 Crozes-Hermitage Cuvée Particulière offers greater density, depth, and length on the palate. On the nose, aromas of sweet blackberries, vegetal notes, peppery herbs, and floral nuances come through brilliantly. On the palate, this wine has medium body, good depth in the mid-palate, well-integrated oak, and a superb finish. It ranks among the best Crozes of the appellation in 2024 and should be enjoyed over the next 6 to 8 years.” (Jeb Dunnuck 2026)

About the estate:

Philippe Desmeure and his daughter Émilie have successfully expanded this family-owned estate to 30 hectares of vineyards. The winemaking and aging in oak result in wines that are typically smooth on the palate. The estate demonstrates great consistency in both red and white wines, vintage after vintage. The 2017 vintage is excellent.

About the estate:

Until 1973, Alphonse Desmeure brought his harvest to the cooperative. His son Philippe began developing the estate in 1977, shifted production primarily to bottled wine, and expanded the vineyard—which now spans 36 hectares across several municipalities. His children, Émilie and Christophe, have joined the estate. It is a must-visit destination, producing wines of rare consistency.

About the wine:

On the palate, there are notes of black cherry, earth, licorice, and beef broth. Its intensity surpasses that of most Crozes, but its structure is already approachable thanks to well-rounded tannins. I expect it to gain complexity in the coming years.

About the wine:

The 2024 Crozes-Hermitage Cuvée Particulière captivates with its aromas of black pepper, black cherry, cedar in the background, and subtle smoky notes. With a medium- to full-bodied, rich, and concentrated palate, this 2024 vintage is already very flavorful at this early stage of tasting, even though it clearly has a structure that will allow it to benefit from further aging in the bottle. Although it’s hard to resist drinking it now, I recommend letting it age for at least one more year in the bottle so it can begin to reveal its full potential.
