"This dazzling Côte Rôtie with its silky texture and elegant fruitiness will delight your guests!"

A classic label from the estate, this Sarrasine blends juices from different plots and, like the other vintages, benefits from ambitious aging, in this case 24 months in half-barrels, half of which are new. The result is a remarkably harmonious wine, which expresses itself elegantly with notes of crushed raspberry, noble vegetal aromas, and black pepper. On the palate, it reveals a full, juicy texture, supported by dense, velvety tannins, with the added bonus of a very nice length enlivened by subtle bitterness, evidence of a solid pedigree and great aging potential." Wine rated (2026 guide) 92/100

Rated estate (2026 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)

About the estate:

This small estate produces only four wines, three in Côte Rôtie and one in Condrieu, from its 12 hectares of land, 11 of which are in Côte Rôtie, spread over a large number of plots. Owned by the Guigal family since 2006, the estate is managed by an independent team. The wines tasted are consistently flawless, but they lack that little bit of magic needed to be great ambassadors for the Côte.

About wine:

About the estate:

By acquiring this estate in 2006, founded in 1961 and expanded and modernized in the 1990s, Marcel Guigal added another jewel to his already richly decorated crown: a 12-hectare vineyard, planted mainly with "serine," an ancient variety of Syrah, which produces Côte-Rôtie and Condrieu wines.

About the estate:

Acquired by the Guigal family in 2006, the Bonserine estate has retained its complete autonomy. At the helm, Ludovic Richard can draw on a fine heritage of vineyards in Côte-Rôtie and Condrieu. The entire vineyard is plowed and indigenous yeasts are used as a matter of course. The red wines remain powerful, but they will mellow with time.

About wine:

Dark and flavorful nose. Juicy and supple on the palate, but with a firm, ripe tannic structure in the background. Lively and persistent finish, with the characteristic freshness of the vintage.

Wine rated (2025 guide) 91-94/100

About wine:

The Côte Rôtie La Sarrasine 2023 has a dense purple color and impressive aromas of red and blue fruits, smoked meats, flowers, and notes of burnt earth. It is beautifully balanced, medium-bodied to full-bodied, with supple yet powerful tannins and a lovely finish. This harmonious and complex Côte Rôtie will give great pleasure now, but can be kept for 10 to 15 years. Composed of 97% Syrah and 3% Viognier, it has spent 24 months in two-wine demi-muids.
