Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2018 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About the estate:
For three generations, the Pasquiers estate has been producing Côtes-du-Rhône, Côtes-du-Rhône-Villages Plan-de-Dieu, and Gigondas wines. The Plan-de-Dieu terroir is dominated by red clay covered with rounded pebbles, while Gigondas is located close to the famous Dentelles de Montmirail. The vinification and aging processes favor gentle extraction and integrated oak. The range is well defined and each vintage offers a very good synthesis.

Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 09/21/2024
Its distinctive style is evident in the heady sensation that immediately fills the mouth, lively, confident, and full-bodied. It expresses a concentration of macerated blackcurrant and blueberry, as well as peppery spices and vegetal notes, supported by powerful, silky tannins and carried by a marked, almost chalky acidity that stretches into the finish, lightly powdered with bitterness. With its strong, warm character, this cuvée will delight lovers of southern wines and will easily pair with a spicy chili con carne. Rating = 3.7.
