(Notes from the 2017 vintage)
floral
powerful
elegant

A red wine of stature, named after the eagle owls that are the discreet inhabitants of this small plot. Rich and aristocratic, the wine offers magnificent fruit enhanced by pronounced spices, enveloped in well-controlled oak. The finish will be even more sublime after two or three years of aging.

Wine rated 15/20 (2017 vintage) (Very good wine)

Rated estate (2020 guide) Selected (An estate or winery that impressed us with one or more of its wines, but where we are unable to give an overall opinion on the style of the entire range)

About the estate:

This small estate has some very attractive plots in Condrieu, including some, such as Poncin, that are very close to Château Grillet. We were more impressed by the red Saint-Joseph wines than by the Condrieu wines in 2017.
