Domaine François Merlin - Saint-Joseph 2020
The vines, located at the northernmost tip of the Saint-Joseph appellation, are planted with Syrah on sandy soils at an altitude of 300 meters. This Saint-Joseph is a charming wine with an intense ruby color. The nose immediately reveals black cherry, raspberry and violet aromas, with a hint of spice on the finish. The mouthfeel is supple and greedy, with a strong fruitiness.

Domaine noté (guide 2020) Sélectionné (An estate or house that has won us over with one or more wines from its production, without us being able to give a general opinion on the style of the entire range)
About the domain :
This small estate owns some very pretty parcels in Condrieu, some of which, like Poncin, are very close to Château Grillet. We were more seduced by the red Saint Josephs than by the Condrieux in 2017.
