"Fruit and spice!"
Aromas of ripe fruit and spice fill the mouth from the first sip. This is followed by notes of blackberry, blueberry and garrigue. The finish is persistent, with herbaceous fragrances adding a touch of freshness. This complex wine is a perfect match for many red meat dishes.

Wine rated 90/100 (Vintage 2020)
Domaine rated 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))
About the domain :
Founded in Vingrau in 2002 by Jacques Castany and Pascal Dieumidou, this estate found good advice right from the start from their neighbor Hervé Bizeul's oenologist (Clos des Fées). In 2004, its reputation took off thanks to Decanter magazine. However, the two are still part-time winemakers, despite their 10 hectares in production. The winery, housed in an old garage, remains simple but efficient. All the cuvées are very well made, making the domaine a sure bet in the Roussillon region.

About the domain :
Jacques Castany worked in transport and Pascal Dieunidou in IT. In 2002, they set up in viticulture in a tiny winery. With success, as their already brilliant track record testifies. The 10-hectare vineyard is located in Vingrau, facing an imposing limestone cirque.

Carrément Rouge reveals a beautiful complexity and is a perfect example of power and harmony. It unfurls a full, suave frame, generously endowed with bewitching flavors of expressive red fruits, nuanced with spicy notes at the service of present tannins, but of great finesse and above all deliciously velvety. The whole is wisely stretched to an intense finish, underlined by a mineral freshness that channels the wine's fiery character. At once auhentic and modern, this Gem is best enjoyed slowly with sun-drenched cuisine, such as Provençal-style stuffed tomatoes or red Roussillon lamb roasted with garrigue herbs. Note w= 4,4.
