"The Promise of Dawn (Romain Gary)"

"Alba," meaning "dawn" in Catalan, is the true promise of Carignan grown on exceptional terroir. Its characteristic freshness, modesty, restraint, and elegance are clearly present. It has the savory taste of a beef bouillon cube or beef roast trimmings, and the fruit is dark, with an earthy umami note of mushrooms and soy. But there is no green steminess, no aggressiveness, no astringency. Just power and breadth. Rosemary, wild mint, and lavender. And the finish is filled with dark red fruits that seem to have waited for the finale to come out from behind the scenes, bursting with life." (Jancis Robinson 2025) A limited edition cuvée.

About wine:

Slightly different from the T-M style, but not enormously so. Its characteristic freshness, modesty, restraint, and elegance are very much present. It has the savory taste of a beef bouillon cube or beef roast trimmings, and the fruit is dark, with an earthy umami line, mushrooms and soy. But there is no green stemmyness, no aggressiveness, no astringency. Just power and breadth. Rosemary, wild mint, and lavender. And the finish is filled with dark red fruits that seem to have waited for the finale to come out from behind the scenes, bursting with life. Bring on the wild boar stew! (TC)
