Domaine Anne-Sophie et Jean-François Quénard

The JF Quénard Estate is a family-owned estate that has been passed down from father to son since 1644. It is located in the upper part of the town, at the foot of the famous Chignin towers, whose origins remain a mystery. Jean-François, an oenologist, took over the estate with his father in 1987, after earning his degree (from the University of Dijon) and completing several highly enriching internships in Bordeaux and California. Anne-Sophie, one of Jean-François’s daughters, now assists him at the estate.

The JF Quénard Estate Today, it comprises 17 hectares of vineyards that stretch out at the foot of the towers of the ancient fortress. The Chignin vineyard, located 10 km south of Chambéry, is characterized by its well-exposed clay-limestone slopes as well as its magnificent site featuring medieval towers. Jean-François Quénard draws inspiration from traditional methods passed down through successive generations. He ensures respect for the terroir, cultivation practices, and winemaking techniques, all enhanced by new methods. Each plot is vinified separately—it’s like bringing a baby into the world.
