On the limestone scree slopes of Mont Granier, “les Abymes” refers to the disaster that buried the village in 1248. What nonsense! A Cru de Savoie classified since 1973, Micraster reveals here the full personality and potential of the Jacquère grape: a nose of flint and floral aromas, a precise, mineral palate with notes of white flowers, citrus, and white-fleshed fruits. A finely crafted wine with lovely bitter notes on the finish—it’s delicious, and you’ll be coming back for more! Please note: limited quantities available.

Regions

Vines over 50 years old growing on clay-limestone soil formed by the 1248 landslide of Mont Granier in the Chartreuse region. Southern slopes of the moraine damming Lake St. André, in the municipality of Les Marches. A rugged terroir, consisting of hillsides where vines grow (the Mollards) and valleys where marshes, wetlands, and ponds have formed. The area is also characterized by large boulders—still the result of the landslide—that can be as big as a house. This is the terroir where the Jacquère grape variety originated.
