"A rare vintage—the exceptional terroir from which it comes makes it truly exceptional!"

“A highly complex nose blending fruit, minerality, and hints of mint and truffle; the palate reveals a dense texture, plenty of minerality, and silky tannins that linger into a fresh finish. Plenty of character and energy. A top-tier cuvée.” (Le Guide Bettane + Desseauve)

Wine rated (2021 guide) 97/100

Rated 3* Stars (A high-quality product that serves as a benchmark in its sector)

About the wine:

The nose is highly complex, blending fruit, minerality, and hints of mint and truffle; on the palate, it reveals a dense texture, plenty of minerality, and silky tannins that linger into a fresh finish. It has plenty of character and energy. A top-tier wine.

About the estate:

Alain-Dominique Perrin has worked tirelessly to make the magnificent Lagrézette estate one of the beacons of Cahors’s renaissance. The progress is evident following the renovation of the cellar; the wines have gained in elegance, and the fruit is better highlighted by the aging process. We particularly appreciate the Château and Clos-Marguerite vintages, which are remarkable this year.

Hachette Wine Guide

Guide Hachette des vins

Wine noted (guide 2022) 1*Star (Very successful wine)

Rated Estate (2024 Guide) Award-Winning Wines (This producer's wines regularly receive awards from the guide)

About the wine:

Often ranked at the top of the Guide, this cuvée reaffirms its character and qualities in the 2018 vintage. The aromatic profile is built on a foundation of dark fruits, dominated by blackberry, with notes of kirsch. The oak comes through in roasted mocha notes, as well as hints of mint and licorice. Full-bodied, the palate is already velvety, with a certain smoothness on the finish.

About the estate:

A flagship estate in the Cadurcian wine region, acquired in 1985 by businessman Alain-Dominique Perrin. It is renowned for the distinctive architecture of its 16th-century manor house, with its pepperpot towers, steep roofs, and dovecote; for its winemaking heritage (82 ha), which dates back to the 16th century; and, above all, for its ambitious wines, which are regularly featured in these pages.

Another stunner from Château Lagrézette! This Cahors is simply delicious, with intoxicating aromas of red berries and chocolate and an incredibly silky texture... Less powerful and silkier than the Dame d'Honneur—could it be even more subtle? One of the best French Malbecs.
