About the estate:

Alain-Dominique Perrin has worked tirelessly to make the magnificent Lagrézette estate one of the leading lights of Cahors’ renaissance. The progress made since the cellar’s renovation is evident: the wines have gained in elegance, and the fruit is better highlighted by the aging process. We particularly appreciate the Château and Clos-Marguerite vintages, which are remarkable this year.

About the estate:

A flagship estate in the Cadurcian wine region, acquired in 1985 by businessman Alain-Dominique Perrin. It is renowned for the distinctive architecture of its 16th-century manor house, with its pepperpot towers, sloping roofs, and dovecote; for its wine-growing heritage (82 hectares), cultivated since the 16th century; and, above all, for its ambitious wines, which are regularly featured in these pages.

Serving as the estate’s second wine, it is well-structured and features pronounced aromas of black fruit. It is spicy and develops nicely. Best enjoyed starting in 2025.

It’s wonderful to see Lagrezette using bottles with such light glass. Hats off to them! Blackberries, cinnamon-spiced malt bread, anise, and mushrooms. The texture of the fruit and tannins is brighter and more silvery than that of the 2018—overall, the wine is more refined. [...]; a long, fresh backbone of dried thyme and oregano; tannins that resemble the broad mahogany steps of an old staircase in a stately home—soft and silky, a cool warmth, support rather than structure, gently guiding you to the heart of the wine.
