“The 2015 Cahors Paragon is an incredible Cahors, and certainly one of the best wines I’ve tasted from this appellation. It offers a deep, concentrated, and refined style, along with superb notes of black and blue fruits, scorched earth, and spring flowers, with pronounced tannins, a lingering impression, and an excellent finish.” (Jeb Dunnuck)

About the estate:
Alain-Dominique Perrin has worked tirelessly to make the magnificent Lagrézette estate one of the beacons of Cahors’s renaissance. The progress is evident following the renovation of the cellar; the wines have gained in elegance, and the fruit is better highlighted by the aging process. We particularly appreciate the Château and Clos-Marguerite vintages, which are remarkable this year.

About the estate:
A flagship estate in the Cadurcian wine region, acquired in 1985 by businessman Alain-Dominique Perrin. It is renowned for the distinctive architecture of its 16th-century manor house, with its pepperpot towers, steep roofs, and dovecote; for its winemaking heritage (82 ha), which dates back to the 16th century; and, above all, for its ambitious wines, which are regularly featured in these pages.

About the wine:
This wine comes from a gravel-soil plot in Alain Dominique Perrin’s Clos Marguerite vineyard. It boasts an excellent location, power, a dense texture, robust tannins, and hints of jammy black fruit. Rich and ripe, it will age for many years. Best enjoyed starting in 2023.

About the wine:
Very smooth aromas and flavors of ripe black plum and chocolate. The generous tannins gently support the full-bodied fruit. Ready to drink or worth cellaring.
