A small, 9-hectare estate certified organic, located on the appellation’s most renowned terroirs, Thou stands out for the consistency and typicity of its wines. Owned by the same family for four generations, this estate is located on the hillsides of La Chapelle-de-Rousse, home to some of the appellation’s most renowned terroirs. In addition to the traditional Petit Manseng and Gros Manseng, Henri Lapouble-Laplace is dedicated to cultivating (using organic farming methods, certified since 2010) other traditional Jurançon grape varieties: Lauzet, Camaralet, and Petit Courbu. This region produces particularly lively and fragrant wines that age with rare grace and intensity. It’s a shame to drink them too young, before they’ve developed the full aromatic complexity they’re capable of—especially those precious notes of black truffle that contribute to the magic of Jurançon. Intense and full of panache, these wines don’t follow the trend of tart, low-quality wines!
