“The prize goes to this Vieilles Vignes cuvée, with its inky color and violet hues, and its intense, complex bouquet of ripe black fruits, sweet spices, and toasty notes. After a supple attack, the wine slowly builds in intensity, revealing a long, highly aromatic, generous, and full-bodied palate, structured by silky, licorice-like tannins. An exceptional Madiran, perfect for grilled red meat or duck breast—but in at least five years.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2010)

Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
Wine rated (2014 guide) 16,5/20 (Very good)
About the wine:
Rich tannins that have softened with age. A beautifully crafted, elegant, and silky wine. A deep wine that has developed a refined character.
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Wine rated (2010 guide) 17/20 (Great wine)
About the wine:
The Vieilles Vignes cuvée offers lovely fruit, with notes of spices and precious woods, as well as a hint of smokiness and licorice; the overall aroma profile is well-defined. We appreciate the fermented character of this style, with a structure that is well-integrated while fully respecting the fruit. This is the cuvée in which the oak is most skillfully managed.
Wine Enthusiast
Wine rated (2015 guide) 95/100
Rated estate (2020 guide) Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Wine Enthusiast)
About the wine:
This rich, dense, almost impenetrable wine is still dominated by dark tannins and black fruit. A juicy quality hints at its freshness and youthfulness, which are prolonged by the fruitiness. The dark aromas are trying to break through and unfold.

A truly beautiful wine! Velvety and crisp on the palate at first, rich on the palate without ever being overpowering, with lovely, sustained power. The bottle I opened has aged very well!
