Gault & Millau

1*Étoile

Hachette

"The prize goes to this Vieilles Vignes cuvée, with its ink-like color and purple highlights, and an intense, complex bouquet of ripe black fruits, sweet spices, and toasted notes. After a supple attack, there is a slow build-up of power on the palate, which is long, very aromatic, generous and fleshy, structured by silky, licorice-flavored tannins. An exceptional Madiran, ideal for grilled red meat or duck breast, but in at least five years' time." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2010)
