Guide Hachette des vins
Wine rated (2013 guide) 2** stars (Outstanding wine)
About the wine:
How many “favorites” have Alain Brumont’s estates received since the Guide was first published? It’s best not to try counting them, for fear of leaving one out...In any case, this one joins an impressive collection and highlights a pure Tannat, whose vines are over forty years old. The color appears dense, almost black, and an intense, complex bouquet of ripe fruit, vanilla, and cigar box wafts from the glass. There is beautiful volume on the palate, roundness, and a rich, indulgent character. The wine, superbly balanced between freshness and smoothness, reveals ripe tannins, well-integrated oak, and a long, fruity, balsamic finish. Already excellent, this 2009 will continue to develop over the next two or three years.
Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
Wine rated 17/20 (Outstanding)
About the wine:
On the nose, a rich and very fruity bouquet, with aromas of dark fruits and floral notes. On the palate, an intense, powerful, smooth, dense, and complex wine. The aromas from the nose are present, along with silky tannins, a harmonious body, and a generous finish.
